Sous Chef  |  Family Members Club | St James’s, London
Up to £38k (including service charge) | 45h per week 



We are recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our kitchen brigade. The role is a full-time position working, 5 days out of 7 including evenings, weekends, and public holidays .

The Person

 

We are looking for someone who is highly personable, passionate about delivering great service.
We’re building a strong and efficient kitchen team and are in search of a sous chef to assist the head chef. You’ll be working with an amazing menu built on sustainability and zero waste and work alongside the head chef and manage the kitchen’s daily activities, overseeing the staff and aiding with menu preparation and ensuring food quality and freshness.
You will also have experience in training and managing a team at least at Junior Sous level and looking to take your next step.

Previous experience as a Sous Chef with a proven track record

 

Key responsibilities

➔ Leading the kitchen team
➔ Provide guidance to junior kitchen staff members
➔ Oversee and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients
➔ Ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are
properly dated and organized for quality assurance
➔ Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation
hours
➔ Ensure food safety standards and health and safety regulations are adhered to
➔ Assist in hiring and training new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen
standards
➔ Manage food and product ordering, stock take and waste control, plus work with
existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
➔ Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant
standards
➔ Work with the head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and
training opportunities
➔ Verify that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently wellmanaged
➔ Assist with menu creation
➔ Coordinate with restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, and
kitchen efficiency and staffing
